My simple watercolor illustrations are a big part of my books, and people always ask what supplies I use. I’ve tried many different supplies over the years and these are my current favorites:

In general, I prefer cold press (textured) watercolor paper and a very small (size 1, 2 or 3) round/pointy brush. But don’t get too hung up on brands or finding the perfect supplies—use what you have and just paint! The most important thing is to just make some time to be creative.
