The Watercolor Feast (Abrams, Spring 2025) is the newest book from New York Times bestselling Forest Feast cookbook author and illustrator Erin Gleeson.
In this book, Erin emphasizes the importance of making time for creativity in our busy lives. Creative outlets reduce stress and offer that sense of balance many of us crave. Even if you’ve never painted before, watercolor is an easy, meditative way to be creative and this book makes it very approachable.
Known for her vibrant culinary watercolors, Erin now offers step-by-step tutorials to paint beautiful produce and flowers. A simple recipe idea is also included for each tutorial so that readers can continue their creativity in the kitchen after painting an ingredient.
Erin shares her intuitive approach to painting, avoiding technical terms to encourage experimentation. To create a tension-free painting experience doodling is encouraged with prompts for abstract ‘color exercises’ in each tutorial (see below).
Making time for creativity can be a challenge, so the book also offers ideas for hosting a creative gathering, including suggested supplies and even a simple menu one could serve.
The author is available for interviews and can supply these images and others from the book. The book will be released April 15, 2025 and we are hoping for Spring and Summer press coverage.
